FAQs

What should I bring?

Comfortable footwear, a bottle of water, maybe a snack...and anything the weather requires. Please note: we often sit on the ground (when it's not raining), so choose your clothing accordingly and/or bring a sit pad.

Is this experience suitable for everyone?

Forest therapy walks are slow and gentle. No particular level of fitness is required, but please advise the guide if you have a significant medical condition that might affect your participation in the outdoors. As these walks are designed primarily for adults, participants should be age 16 and above.

Any rules for participation?

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the time indicated on your ticket.

Make sure you have filled and signed the Waiver (Participation Agreement and Release ).

To best focus on the forest, please keep cellphones off during the entire experience.

Please leave pets at home (service animals are welcome).

What about the weather; do we go rain or shine?

Typically our walks will go out even in the rain; Northwest showers can actually be some participants’ favorite experience. Please do bring appropriate rainwear if rain is in the forecast. Of course, we will not go out and the walk will be rescheduled in the event of high winds or other unsafe conditions.

Is this a form or counseling or psychotherapy?

Not at all. Your guide is not a licensed therapist, and this practice is not a form of counseling or traditional therapy. The guide’s role is to invite you to connect with nature and an embodied relationship with the more than human world, which sometimes provides unique insights. We have a saying: “Nature is the therapist; the guide opens the door.”

What’s your cancellation policy?

We realize that unexpected circumstances may require cancellation of your forest bathing session. If you need to cancel, please do so at least 48 hours before the scheduled event to receive a full refund.
